Thank you so much for stopping by! This is my first step into the world of blogging and I am excited because I love what I do and love sharing what I know. Besides working with people in-person, I feel called to do something more, because my interest and expertise lie in a few areas that I want to bring together including Physical Therapy, Pilates, and Essential Oils. I know people are tired of not having options when it comes to many common health concerns, and I believe when we combine proper and adequate movement with what nature has to offer, we can thrive, instead of just survive.
I have been a practicing Physical Therapist for over 16 years, with a specialty in Orthopedics. This means I treat a lot of spinal pain, shoulder, elbow, hip, knee and ankle pain, with a sprinkling of pediatric cases. I recently went back to school for my doctorate degree in PT (which is the current entry-level degree; when I went to school there was just a Master’s Degree) so that I could step up my clinical skills and ultimately treat my patients better.
I am Polestar trained in Pilates since 2002. I hold a rehabilitation practicioner certification (about a year long) that I highly recommend! It compliments what I do as a PT tremendously and is also a wonderful compliment to any workout program (from Barre enthusiasts to Cross-Fit studs!).
My love for the health benefits of Essential Oils (EO’s) began almost 3 years ago, when I had a health concern that I just lived with, thinking that was how things were going to be. I gave oils a try and BAM, I could manage my health issue better than I was ever able to before. EO’s have been used for thousands of years, and they are more recently gaining mainstream popularity. And now, there is growing scientific literature out there that demonstrates their health benefits, further strengthening their legitimacy.
I love sharing my passion(s) with others because it doesn’t feel like work. Physical Therapy, Pilates and EO’s are so complimentary to each other that I hope to show you how you can make simple, healthier choices for yourself and your family, incorporating these items.
I will be doing posts on all the above subjects and look forward to this new journey with you!
Gratefully,
Nicole
