3 Pilates-Based Moves to Get Your Spine Rolling

If there’s one thing I see OFTEN at work, it’s complaints of lower back pain.  It is one of the top 5 reasons people go see their Doctors.

It is estimated that ~80% of lower back sprains/strains resolve on their own; most people see significant improvement within the first 2 weeks, with total resolution by 4-6 weeks.  The remaining ~20% of individuals may experience prolonged symptoms, or have other more serious issues at play.  If this is the case, and your symptoms are no better (or even worse) after 2 weeks then I highly recommend consulting with your healthcare provider.

While almost all of us are going to experience some form of back pain at some point in our lives (nothing is totally preventable!), there are definitely steps anyone can take to start safe movement again after experiencing a sprain/strain.   These are also movements I use in the clinic to “test” out how someone responds to movements that we need to do on a daily basis just to get around.
